How to Side Hustle

I’ve been steps toward creating more financial independence for myself.  I find myself researching passive income streams more than I would like to admit!

The idea of having passive income sounds fantastic, but at the same time it seems mysterious and intangible.  Recently, I was listening to a Podcast on YouTube called the School of Greatness and to my surprise the was a Podcast topic was about Side Hustles.

The podcast featured Chris Guillebeau, NY times best-selling author, during the Podcast Lewis interviewed Chris about his soon to be published book “Side Hustle” .  I fond the interview both charming and engaging.  Chris’s book outlines a process to create some extra income for yourself.

Long story short! I took the pitch, I  bought a copy of the  book through Amazon and it arrived on my door step a couple of days later. Eagerly, I continued to watch the podcast again and started thinking about how I could apply what I was learning to my blog.

Anticipation + Joy = Optimism

I eagerly opened my package with a feeling that I could describe as Optimism.  (Robert Plutchik developed an emotion wheel see here)  Today, I finished reading Day 9 of the 27 Day plan to as Chris claims “From Idea to Income in 27 Days.”  This book is a fascinating read, so much that I started listening to the Podcast on iTunes as well.  I find myself writing in my journal about the lessons for each day, with each day I become more inspired to pursue the generation of a Side Hustle for myself.

For me, this book is a source of inspiration to me and it resonates with me because I am not looking to quit my 9-5 job. My goal is to generate another source of income to give me more financial freedom, pay off debts and allow me the flexibility to be more intentional with my time.  If you have created a side hustle please feel free to leave a comment and take a look at this book.  For me, it’s a game changer.
